This is the story of Renu Devi. She is aged around 40 years and belongs to Kasturba Mahila Mandal, group no. A-2 of Belha village. Due to extreme poverty, her parents were not able to provide education for her and that’s why she bounded to marry a widower man having four children. Her husband Mr. Indradev Mahto’s first wife too died due to his impoverish poverty. The sudden turn around came into Renu’s life when she joined Kasturba Mahila Mandal a SHG supported by Heifer project.

Last week Thomas and I got dressed up and took a car over to Beverly Hills to support one of my favorite organizations, Heifer International. Meeting the team behind Heifer left me feeling incredibly inspired about the wonderful work they are doing all over the world.

Kindergarteners at Morgan Township Elementary School were among the students raising money for Heifer International in the spring. The school was named a National Blue Ribbon School on Tuesday.

The proceeds from each pumpkin sold at The Pumpkin Patch at Tallahassee Heights UMC in Florida support the next year’s patch and more importantly, go to various missions around the world, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Heifer International, our sister church in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Soloman’s Porch, The Shelter, Teen Challenge, Samaritan’s Purse, and A Woman’s Pregnancy Center.

Several Arkansas Tech University students will have the opportunity to serve others this spring as part of two Alternative Spring Break experiences offered by Arkansas Tech. Some Tech students will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to serve, while others will have the opportunity to experience the Heifer International Global Village in Perryville, Arkansas.

Milking a goat is kind of weird and cool at the same time. It has an awkward warm sensation.Before milking a goat everybody bleached their hands because it would keep the goat from getting infected and if someone on accident touched the milk it wouldn’t go bad.

The 2013 downtown Little Rock festival will span four city blocks offering street eats from 25 food trucks and food carts, craft selections from 25 Etsy Little Rock vendors, local bands and musicians, a Heifer International Children’s Plaza, street performers and three well stocked beer gardens selling the coldest brew in town!

We’re not only huge fanboys/girls of Pat’s work as a writer, but we also consider him to be a contemporary in the field of fan activism. Pat has created his own non-profit called Worldbuilders and, over the past five years, they’ve united fantasy and sci-fi geeks to raise over 2 million dollars for Heifer International.

A historic orphanage in North Little Rock that has been largely vacant for more than a decade is returning to the roots of its mission through a transformation into an organic farm to serve nearby communities. The idea of teaching people to farm in their communities developed in part from Heifer International’s new Seeds of Change program, in which the organization’s U.S. programs director, Perry Jones, and staff members help beginning farmers get access to land and teach them how to farm, which creates jobs and food.

The Band Perry also performed at the 2nd Annual “Beyond Hunger: A Place At the Table” – a fundraiser to help end world hunger and poverty –honoring Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon and hosted by Heifer International.
