In celebration of World Architecture Day by World Architecture News, the Alex Foundation,and Heifer International will handout and read Winter in Songming books to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students at Crestwood Elementary School in North Little Rock. Winter in Songming follows the life of a young boy as his village in China moves toward self-sufficiency. Heifer International donated the books to the Alex Foundation.
They formed 18000 for 18000, with the goal of raising $1 per child by their May 2014 graduations. The teens, friends since sixth grade, exceeded their goal in 10 months, raising $22,401.83, for two organizations, including Heifer International.

Presented by Downtown Little Rock Partnership and the Main Street Revitalization Committee, the Main Street Food Truck Festival will feature more than 25 food trucks along Main Street from 3rd to 7th. It will be joined by wandering street performers, Etsy craft vendors, a Heifer International Children’s Plaza.
Grace Luthern Church inTennessee will hold its 12th annual Pet Fest and Blessing Oct. 5. Pets can also be implanted with a microchip for a $20 fee, which will be donated to the Heifer International.
